Braziliance Volume 2

by Brian on September 27, 2010 filed in D.I.A. Mixes

I’m excited to present the second installment of Braziliance, a series that celebrates the many musical styles that Brazil has to offer. This time around I tried to branch out a bit beyond the Brazilian staples and have included many things I’ve picked up over the past year, some within the last few weeks. I also tried to make it a little more upbeat than Volume 1 while also working in some slow jams here and there. All recorded from original vinyl, except the impossible to find Cravo & Canela which is taken from the Japanese reissue from a couple of years ago. Until Volume 3, enjoy!

I’ve been waiting for this day! My little girl and I love Vol.1. We’ll be throwing 2 on the “hi-fi” tonight.
Thanks and keep it up!

The first installment was perhaps my favorite mix for several months.I’d imagine this one will be no different.Even the cover art is dope, did you design that?

Brian September 30, 2010 at 6:11 pm

Yeah I designed the cover. If you remember I used Gilberto Gil on the first Braziliance as well. I loved these photos I found of him so decided to use him again.

I am very eager to acquire this mixtape especially since I loved Braziliance Vol. 1, but unfortunately the file refuses to unzip… Is there something wrong with this file? Am I too late? Is anyone else having this problem?
