Eilon Paz, photographer and founder of the awesome Dust & Grooves blog, came up with the ingenious idea of setting up a photo booth at this years WFMU Record & CD fair. I had the privilege of attending two such fairs when I lived in Philadelphia, and it is easily the most impressive display of music consumption I’ve ever been a part of. Besides the massive number of quality records all under one roof, I think what surprised me the most was just how many walks of life came through those doors. It didn’t matter who you were – if you loved music, you were there, and I think Eilon’s photos really capture the diverse set of characters brought together by the common passion for music and records.
I hope to someday return to the WFMU fair, but for now I’ll have to live vicariously through photos like these. Be sure to check out the rest of Eilon’s photo booth set on Facebook as well as his blog dedicated to record collectors in all their idiosyncratic glory.
