I’m really excited to present this guest mix from DJ Slim Jenkins aka Adam from Musica del Alma. If any of you are frequenters of his site, you’ll know that he runs one of the best blogs dedicated to Latin music – especially con alma (with soul). When I originally asked him if he’d be interested in doing a mix for the site, I naturally, and perhaps prematurely, anticipated a flurry of Latin heat, but was surprised to find that it’s anything but. Rather, he used it as an outlet to explore all of the cool non-Latin music he’s into, which actually makes a lot of sense.
Rejuvenation was the inspiration for the mix – a mellow mix that he put together to throw on whenever he needed some positive vibes. It’s very jazz oriented, spanning funky, free, spiritual with international flares here and there. A mixture of classic and rare material, and flows quite nicely. Big thanks to A for the killer mix!
